Specifically comma separated values, if you need it to be 'pretty' do it in Excel and suck it up, or convert to tab delimiters for readability's sake. The issue here is you are asking for readability in a plain text format. Is there a solution for this that doesn't involve sucking it up and being in Excel all the time? I found a lot of references online to the now-defunct TextFX for this, and there are other plugins that handle most of what TextFX does - but it seems that this column alignment has been left out in the cold. In many cases I really don't need to do anything that warrants opening Excel, but I do need the columns to be aligned so that it's easily human-readable (which Excel does excellently and N doesn't appear to handle at all). I use Notepad to do a huge chunk of my day to day work, and one thing I have to deal with frequently is reading data from CSVs.
